Hamilton celebrates victory at Indianapolis

A record provisional 21-race calendar has been announced by the FIA for 2012, with the United States Grand Prix making a return.

Austin, Texas will become the home of Formula 1 in North America after an eight-year stint in Indianapolis ended in 2007.

Bahrain will once again host the opening Grand Prix of the season – although there is presently more discussion about its rescheduling in 2011 at present.

The season is due to finish, five continents and 20 races later, in Brazil in the last week of November.

Turkey has been included – with a race in March – but since its national government withdrew funding for the race, questions remain over its future.
