Team Lotus will hold a demonstration in the city streets of Putrajaya, Malaysia, this weekend ahead of the country’s Grand Prix.
On Saturday 2 April fans will have the opportunity to see Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli drive the Formula 1 car down the city’s streets ahead of the team’s home race.
Five lucky fans will also receive a pass, allowing them to go on a behind the scenes tour of the team’s facilities.
The event, in collaboration with Sepang International Circuit and AirAsia, hopes to increase the profile of F1 in Malaysia.
The Malaysian Grand Prix has been ever present on the Formula 1 Grand Prix calendar since hosting its inaugural race in 1999. But attendance figures for it have dwindled in recent years and tickets can still be bought for the race in a fortnight’s time.
The Malaysian-backed Lotus team failed to secure a single point in their debut season in 2010.
